The school was established as an Educational Qualification Technology Center (UKTC), city of Pravets, in 1986 by a decree of the Council of Ministers. The goal is to train specialists in the field of information technology, necessary for the 8 and 16 bit personal computers produced in the city of Pravets. It is included in the structure of the State Association “Microprocessor Systems”.
In 2004, by order of the Ministry of Education and Culture, the name of the school was changed – Professional high school for computer technologies and systems – town of Pravets at the Technical University – Sofia.
In 2011, the Professional High School of Computer Technologies and Systems – Pravets celebrated its 25th anniversary, which was attended by former and current graduates of the school.
In 2017, the name of the school was changed to National Vocational High School of Computer Technologies and Systems.
For better professional training, the NPG in KTS – the city of Pravets is a unit, financially and methodically subordinated to the Technical University – Sofia.
The school is managed by a research supervisor appointed by the university. All professors and employees are appointed by the TU Rector and are employed by the Technical University – Sofia.
Students from all over the country are educated at the National Technical College of Technical Education. They are prepared in an atmosphere of ingenuity and academic development, which contributes and helps their faster professional adaptation. The highly qualified teachers – professors, associate professors and assistants from the Faculty of Computer Systems and Management of TU Sofia provide a solid base of knowledge in the field of electronics and programming. As part of the professional training, disciplines such as microprocessor technology, computer peripherals and multimedia, computer networks, computer architecture, computer security and others are also studied.
