Acta Foundation is a Bulgarian non-governmental organization acting in public interest. The name of Acta Foundation was inspired by the Latin “acta non verba” literally meaning “actions not words” which is the philosophy that united a group of experts with rich and complementary academic background and hands on business experience behind the Acta foundation. Our mission is to facilitate the development of active civil society through initiatives aimed at transforming education, business and leaders towards a more sustainable, smart and inclusive world.

Our aims are:

  • to ACT as a bridge between the worlds of business and education through initiation and implementation of various initiatives promoting lifelong learning and high-quality educational services inspired from the world of business;
  • to ACT as a promoter of modern, innovative and flexible education and training aimed at nurturing the 21st century skills among young people;
  • to ACT as a facilitator of positive changes in the world of education through the introduction of practically oriented teaching programmes derived from the needs of the business and the contemporary labour market.

Acta’s experts have been involved in a number of national and international projects aimed at promoting employability and entrepreneurship, tackling youth unemployment, development and application of innovative teaching and training methods in various educational contexts. As a result, the team has gained a profound experience in project management; organization of dissemination campaigns; implementation of research and analyses; training design and delivery; organization of various events (trainings, seminars, workshops, conferences).

All of Acta’s experts come from successful business backgrounds and are well connected with the leading universities in Bulgaria thanks to which the foundation works for the promotion and development of sustainable cooperation between SMEs and educational institutions in the form of mentoring and internship programmes, VET students work placements and different events and initiatives such as small-scale entrepreneurs contests, hackathons and others.
