Five days passed, and Pedro reached out to Rita. He sent her a message asking if she had considered their situation and whether they could develop their relationship and share photos to get to know each other better. Afraid that Pedro would disappear again, Rita replied and promised to send him a photo in the evening. In the meantime, she searched endlessly for a photo she could send, worried about Pedro’s reaction — that he might not like her anymore… (‘Maybe a picture from a distance, perhaps he won’t see me clearly.’ she thought). She decided to use a filter to change her silhouette, convincing herself it was okay because she was trying to lose weight and believed that she would be thinner by the time they met. In one of the photos Rita shared, she unknowingly had her location settings activated, allowing Pedro to identify the school she attended. Eager to meet her, he went to the school and quickly discovered the real Rita and her true appearance. Pedro felt deceived: ‘You can’t trust anyone!’ he thought. ‘I really liked her. I’m a victim!’
