Luca goes from shock to blushing and just can’t understand what he did wrong. Sometimes, when he plays, he gets carried away, but he never crosses certain lines and is sure he hasn’t broken any rules.
He tries to contact Anna, but discovers that he’s been blocked. Then he tries to contact Andrea, but he doesn’t respond either. Some of his other online friends seem more communicative: some see him as a hero, others ignore and insult him, while still others appreciate him, nicknaming him Dr. Jekyll because, despite his genuineness and cheerfulness, he seems to be hiding a dark side.
Luca can’t figure out what could have changed overnight. He doesn’t understand why neither Andrea nor Anna are responding to him, until one of their friends reveals the sad truth: apparently, a few nights ago, he posted private conversations between him and Anna, and not only that, but he also mocked her heavily, while Andrea seemed to defend Anna.
His friends send him screenshots of the chat, and he goes from being red as a pepper to turning pale as a sheet: what happened? And why didn’t Andrea, who was trying to defend Anna, say anything to him? Luca feels deeply ashamed and can’t help but feel that someone is trying to set him up.
He feels hurt and violated to his core because, even though the video game is ‘just a game’, what isn’t a game is the relationship he now fears he’s lost with Anna and Andrea.
