As the rumour spreads, so does the guilt gnawing at me. I see the effects first-hand as Alex’s friends start to distance themselves, and teachers cast suspicious glances his way.

I didn’t think it would escalate like this. I didn’t mean for anyone to get hurt. As guilt consumes me, I realise the gravity of my actions. I decide to confide in Tanya, who confronts me about the rumour.

I break down, admitting my jealousy and insecurity. Tanya helps me see the harm I’ve caused and urges me to take responsibility for my actions. I agree to collaborate with her to debunk the rumour.

Working with Tanya, I issue a public apology to Alex.
