One day, Ana shares one of the new drawings she has created. Shortly after posting, she starts receiving negative comments from an anonymous account:
- “This is the ugliest drawing I’ve ever seen.”
- “You should quit drawing. You’re terrible at it.”
- “No one cares about your dumb hobbies.”
The harassment escalates as the anonymous user starts sending Ana direct messages filled with abusive language, telling her that she doesn’t belong on the platform and threatening her to stop posting. Ana feels humiliated and upset by the comments and messages. She becomes anxious about posting anything online and starts to withdraw from social media. Ana’s self-esteem suffers, and she feels discouraged from pursuing her artistic interests.
